This is a semester-long class for students in grades 9 or 10. Students can take Intro to Architecture & Engineering one semester and Health the other semester. There are a wide range of projects the students will be doing - from designing their own video games and using a laser, to drawing an architectural floor plan. Students will be creating Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD software (from Autodesk), Inventor, Google Sketchup, GameMaker and Laputan. This is a hands-on class where students learn by doing. Intro to Architecture & Engineering is aimed at students who are interested in design, architecture and engineering. Students will have an opportunity to participate in an elective course that provides them with practical skills and potential career. Students have the opportunity to earn a CTE Career Skills Certificate in CAD Mechanical Design 1. You do not need any previous knowledge I will teach you everything you need to know.
