In 2015 Ryan Teixeira was diagnosed with Stage 1 Ewing Sarcoma, which he underwent several rounds of Chemo Therapy and surgery to remove a 10 pound tumor from his leg. Only 8 months after his last chemo therapy Ryan is now fighting again for his life. Diagnosed with AML
( Acute Myeloid Leukemia) Ryan Teixeira is in need of a bone marrow transplant.
Ryan is a graduate of Arroyo Grande High School and currently a student at Colorado Mesa University.

With no matches at this time Ryan and his family are asking for the communities help. ON Oct 2, 2016, Be The Match along with family and friends will be hosting a marrow registration drive at the Arroyo Grande High School, from 1-6pm. IF you are between the ages of 18-44, please stop by to complete a consent form and a quick swabbing of the inside of your mouth.

Every 3 minutes, someone is diagnosed with a blood cancer, like Leukemia or Lymphoma. The only hope for a cure is a bone marrow transplant. 70% of patients don’t have a compatible match in the family and rely on finding an unrelated donor. Sadly, only about half of those in search will find the match they need to be cured of their illness. You can help increase odds for every patient by joining the Be the Match Registry or hosting a marrow donor registration event.
