This is a brief tutorial showing you how to navigate Gmail AND how to create groups in your contacts.

hi everybody this is Tom Whalen and I put together a short screencast for you to show you how to get around your new Gmail interface first of all let's take a look at reading an email and downloading an attachment let me click on this for Linda Stewart and I'll do a single tap on the message I got to hear that they sent out an announcement when I hover over this announcement  just a two options here I can download it I can load it to my Google Drive if I download it it will download it to my computer so I can open it up and see what it is without adding it to my Google Drive or hear this automatically save it to my drive  cat another thing to get back to your inbox you can click right here is back to him box or like a quick right here and go to my inbox to compose a new message  write a new message simply want a pain compose and start typing in the individual's name everyone in our school should automatically be loaded in to your contacts and it should pop up right away even though if you want to send a message to someone else in the district go ahead and start typing their name in Branson I want to send one to think about and Hammer at Shell Beach 70th and her name will pop up also make sure you do on the Cynthia. Bodenhamer as opposed to the old sea boat and Hammer when sending a message another thing that people have expressed interest in is creating folders for the classes and the way you do that if you have to come up here towards says mail and click on this little red downward-pointing triangle and going to contacts cast from there you'll have to scroll down here to the bottom where it says directory and the directory has everyone in the lmusd.org domain embedded so if I wanted to add an individual if I wanted to Kevin Anderson  I would try to find Kevin a and hit the little magnifying glass and it'll search all of Kevin's contacts and in addition it scratching Kevin Lopez as well I want to add a Kevin. Anderson to my contacts and I will go ahead and click on Kevin and then what I'd like to do is Adam to a group so this three-headed monster right here is how you get these groups around the left hand side I'll click on the drop-down box and just yeah I already have Kevin out of the counselor if I wanted to add him to a secondary group  hi we just scroll down to the bottom and create a new group and I'll add Kevin to the friendly people group and then you will see here that is greater than older for me on the left friendly people and I'm sure I could add a lot more people in there but for now Kevin is the first what I will do once I find out didn't start I will start typing their names then and having them to the different classes it's a pretty quick process but doesn't take that long to populate all your classes but it's very convenient because when you want to send an email out  you don't have to type in every individual's name you can simply go back to mail and if you have a group setup go back to compose and begin typing in the group man  if I want send I have a group set up for HHS admin already classified staff all staff and teachers and you just click on this and it went populate all those individuals now if you didn't want everyone to see you're going to email address on there if you come in here  and do it as blind carbon copy so they won't see everyone else's address and then simply put your name up there and send a copy yourself or you hit send  turn off this is helpful if you have any other questions on your Gmail please let me know my email address is Tom.
