The annual Ada "Rosa" Bill MacMillan Memorial Scholarship for Culinary Arts is sponsored by Rosa's Italian Restaurant. 1-2 scholarships at $1000 each will be awarded to a graduating AGHS senior who plans to attend a vocational, two-year or four-year to study Culinary Arts. In addition to the completed application and copy of your transcripts, applicants will need to submit a one page essay describing yourself and how receiving this scholarship will help you reach your goals. Include in the essay the following criteria for selection: Ability, Desire, Pursuit of Culinary Ambitions and Character.

The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 136 is offering a $500 scholarship to students whose parent or grandparent is a Veteran from an active war time period, or is currently on active duty. Special consideration will be given to a student whose parent or grandparent is a member of the American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary, Sons of the American Legion or a current Member of the American Legion Auxiliary in the State of California. 

Qualifications include:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen 
  • Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 
  • Complete all the parts of the application

American Legion AG Post 136 is pleased to grant $500.00 scholarships to graduating high

school seniors. Applicants MUST be military affiliated through parents, grandparents, or family members as a US Veteran retired, reserve or currently active.

The Arroyo Grande Sportsman’s Club is offering up to 4 scholarships to seniors. Applicants must have career goals that will have a positive impact on physical, social or political environment for the conservation/preservation and propagation of fish and wildlife and the natural resources within the United States; forest service; fish and game service; and/or wildlife/environmental law.

The California School Employees Association, Lucia Mar Chapter 275 is seeking applicants for their 2023 scholarship. Applicants must be graduating high school seniors who are dependents of CSEA Chapter 275 Members. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic achievement, leadership potential, and promise of achievement. See attached cover letter of more details and application.

The California-Hawaii Elks Association (CHEA) Vocational Grant Scholarship is available for any students wishing to pursue a vocational/technical course to receive a certification, or a 2-year schooling leading directly to employment. Any prospective student (male or female), residing within the jurisdiction of the CHEA, who plans to pursue an eligible vocational/technical course may file an application. Persons enrolling in a 4-year course leading to a Bachelor's degree are not eligible. All applicants must be citizens of the United States of America on the date the application is filed. Grants range from $500 to $2000.

 

APPLICATION DEADLINE:  Rolling. (This scholarship is available year around so there is no official deadline.)

 

 

The Italian Catholic Federation offers $400.00 scholarships to Roman Catholic graduating high school seniors of Italian descent. Applicants will be judged and evaluated based on scholastic Achievement, Financial need, Leadership, Faculty Recommendation and Character Reference, Extracurricular Activities, and Family Membership/Activities in the I.C.F. if applicable.

The Ralph & Marguerita Johnson Foundation is seeking applications for their 2022- $1,000.00 scholarship awards. To apply, applicants must be graduating seniors living in the South San Luis Obispo County, have a minimum 2.5 GPA and be a US citizen. Attach transcript to completed application.

JUNIORS: The Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O.) is seeking applicants for the 2022-2023 STAR Scholarship for Senior Women. Applicants need to create an Extracurricular Activity and Community/Volunteer Service Activity Chart; submit a transcript indicating a minimum 3.0 cumulative unweighted GPA; and write a one page essay. Applicants will be considered for the $1,000 local chapter scholarship as well as the National P.E.O. Chapter scholarship.

The TAG scholarship is intended to foster further study at a community college, 4-year college or an art institute. Applicants must plan to attend an accredited institution in Fall 2023 and to further an interest in art, but not necessarily a major or minor.  Applicants must have a 2.5 or above grade point average to qualify.

The Vaqueras del Camino women's riding club is pleased to announce their annual scholarship to be awarded to a graduating senior. They are seeking applicants who are "well-rounded". Students interested in horses are encouraged to apply, but it is not a necessary criteria. Senior applicants must be planning to attend a four-year college, community college or accredited vocational or trade school the fall after high school graduation.
