~Message From Administration~

Dear AGHS Families,

Welcome to 2026! As we begin a new semester, we want to share the incredible progress our students and staff have made. Arroyo Grande High School continues to thrive, maintaining a 94% Graduation Rate and earning high marks for College and Career Readiness on the California School Dashboard.

We are proud to highlight several initiatives that are making AGHS a better place for your students:

  • Academic Growth: Our 11th-grade students have shown consistent growth in English and Math standards since 2022.

  • The Privileges System: To help students stay on track, we’ve implemented an objective privileges system focusing on Attendance, Behavior, Classes, and Debts. This allows us to identify and support students who may need extra help in real-time.

  • Expanded Opportunities: With over 15 Career Technical Education (CTE) pathways and a massive expansion of Dual Enrollment courses with Cuesta, our students are graduating more prepared than ever for College and/or Career.

  • Enhanced Communication: We have launched a new, dynamic Digital Course Catalog and a revamped school website to make it easier for families to navigate graduation requirements and school activities.

Our 2025 Climate Survey showed that nearly 50% of students cite strong staff-student relationships as a top school strength. In the coming year, we will continue to focus on creating a safe, inclusive environment where every student feels a sense of "Eagle Pride".

We look forward to a successful and inspiring 2026 with you.

Go Eagles!

Poetry Out Loud Competition

Poetry Out Loud Competition

Students, Like poetry? Have a flair for the dramatic? Like to perform? Interested in winning any of the following prizes such as reserved graduation seating for four, parking permit, yearbook, and lunch paid for by Mr. Grumbles? If you said yes to any of these questions please come to room 307 at break or during lunch or after school any day this week for information about the AGHS Poetry Out Loud competition that will be held on Friday, 1/23. Poetry Out Loud is a national competition in which students select and memorize two poems and then deliver them in front of an audience. A formal meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 14th, but because the competition is earlier this year I want to get information out to any student interested in competing. Last year AGHS took first place at the SLO County competition and scored in the top 5 at the State competition.
