Speech and Debate Results

Speech and Debate Results

The Arroyo Grande Speech and Debate team competed in the Tri-County Forensics League Open Debate tournament on January 17th at Hart High School. Our team competed in the World Schools Debate category. Through four rounds, with both prepared and impromptu motions, our students discussed the merits of banning private health insurance, the ethics of consuming meat and whether you should act as a deity to a tribe that cannot be convinced of your mortal status

Being recognized for Superior Performance (3-1 record) was team Cerulean (shade of blue) comprised of Orion Schmidt, Mordred Morgan and Colin Martel. Part of the team for research and preparation were Lyla Fairweather and Marleigh San Diego. Speech and Debate will next compete on January 24th at the TCFL Spring Congress Tournament.
